Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former Governor of California have announced his separation with his wife Maria Shriver, a member of the Kennedy Dynasty.
According to the statement issued by the spokesman of Schwarzenneger which was quoted as saying “This has been as time of great personal and professional transition for each of us,” Mr Schwarzenegger and Mrs Shriver said in a statement.
The couple was also quoted as saying in an interview “After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision,” the two said in a statement.
Both couples further adds that they they were working on the future of their relationship while living apart and would also continue to parent their four children together.
The couple announced their separation on May 09, 2011 after 25 years of marriage. They have four children namely: Katherine Eunice Shriver Schwarzenegger, Christina Maria Aurelia Schwarzenegger, Patrick Arnold Schwarzenegger and Christopher Sargent Shriver Schwarzenegger.
Arnold Schwarzenegger was an Austrian-American former body-builder, actor and politician who served as the 38th Governor of California. At the early age of 20, he was awarded the title as Mr. Universe and dominated the Mr. Olympia contest for seven times.
Meanwhile Maria Shriver was a former television journalist, a niece of the late John F. Kennedy. She married Arnold Schwarzenegger on April 26, 1986. She authored six best-selling books, a winner of two Emmy’s and a Peabody Awardee.
The love story between Arnold and Maria Shriver started on the year 1977 when Tom Brokaw introduced the couple in a charity tennis tournament being held at the home of her mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the sister of President John F. Kennedy.
Further details of the separation between former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver were not released as of this time.
