YouTube videos have already produced number of football players getting signed by clubs all over the world, but it might be the first time an 18 month old will be discovered.
The talented shot leading to fame was after his father Jorg posted the clip on YouTube.
The video became very popular that its views is now more than 3M, Baerke van der Meij kicking balls into his toy chest caught the attention of relegation-threatened Dutch top flight club VVV-Venlo and suggested the club to sign the kid to a 10 year professional contact. Although, it is made clear that the contract is a “symbolic” one.
The grandfather of Baerke’s was used to play for the club and his family is living in the city of Venlo.VVV-Venlo really did a great job of selling it, even if it is hard to put the little boy on a press conference and sign a contarct.
With a help from Baerke’s father, the little forward put crayon to paper and sealed the deal.
The kid then posed for picture taking standing on the table wearing a miniature replica shirt. Some online viewers have compared him with the national football stars such as Denis Bergkamp and Arjen Robben.
After the contact signing, it was celebrated at the stadium with a gl(–foul word(s) removed–) of orange juice. Baerke’s is really a potential future star but he still have limited vocabulary, one word was enough “bal”.
