Nokia will have a worldwide job cut to almost 7,000 of their employees. The company said that probably it will be imposed in the year 2012.
Nokia firms said that they will shed off 4,000 jobs in their firms located globally. These include the employees serving in Nokia sites in UK which total is about 700 of them. The other 3,000 employees luckily will not be shed from the firm but instead they will be transferred to serve in the outsourcing and Consultancy Group Accenture, which is said to take over the software products provided by Nokia Symbian.
The company is looking forward to improve and raise its capacity in developing smart phones which is greatly in demand to consumers these days. Nokia lately confirmed that they have already dealt with Microsoft to mutually (–foul word(s) removed–)ist them in improving and developing the fast progressing technology of smart phones.
In the deal set by Nokia and Microsoft, both parties came in an agreement to use the Microsoft operating system to run Nokia’s smart phone. In this connection, Nokia will no longer the Symbian platform in their smart phones.
The president of Nokia Mr. Stephen Elop gave statements and said, “With this new focus, we also will face reductions in our workforce…This is a difficult reality, and we are working closely with our employees and partners to identify long-term re-employment programmes for the talented people of Nokia.”
