Due to the continuing unrest, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa of Bahrain made a decision to decline from the royal wedding invitation in London.
Al-Khalifa sent a letter to Prince William of Britain expressing a “deep regret” for declining his request.
On Friday, Prince William will marry Kate Middleton.
Meanwhile, several protests continues to happen in the country of Bahrain as the number of demonstrators still increases in opposition to the leaders of the Arab territory.
Ruled by the Sunni Royal Family, the Kingdom of Bahrain is chiefly a Shiite country where the Fifth Fleet of the US Navy anchors.
Many criticisms rise in connection to the negative issues that were pointed to the government of Bahrain. Various reports from human rights group had revealed that several hospitals were raided including the information that came out that even medical staffs including doctors as well as the patients were being tortured due to their effort of suppressing the demonstrations. However, the Bahraini government keeps on denying those accusations.
Prince Al-Khalifa responds to the demonstrations in a manner of defending the stand of government of Bahrain.
Words quoted from Al-Khalifa’s recent speech even stated that they were “immensely concerned” that a number of young people have been “pushed towards a destructive path”.
He added that the Bahraini government takes significant moves in order to preserve the lives, livelihood that also the interests of many individuals.
Al-Khalifa said that he was “saddened and troubled” knowing about the reports published by the British media regarding his decision of declining in Royal wedding invite.
Since that Al-Khalifa had written a letter that he declines to attend the royal wedding, he still managed to end his note by wishing all the goodness and happiness for the future of the British royals citing for the soon-to-be-couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
