Monday, the newly formed Special Weapons And Tactics or so called SWAT unit of the Police District of Butuan City are blessed with a donation from a kind lawmaker. The SWAT team was commemorating their anti-crime campaign and it heightened their celebration as they received the donation. The said donation includes 14 brand new M-16 rifles which could greatly help them effectively perform their duties.
This mentioned lawmaker was in the name of Rep. Jose Aquino II. Aquino was a representative of Agusan del Norte and it was him where the rifle donations came from. The firearms were bought by Rep. Aquino using the money which was allocated in his budget as his Priority Development (–foul word(s) removed–)istance Fund (PDAF).
Representative Aquino said in statement that a strong police force means a strong city and added that a strong city means sustainable progress.
This could be his means why he came to an idea of donating those brand new rifles for the newly formed SWAT Team.
The firearms donated were personally received by Regional Director Chief Supt. Reynaldo S. Rafal of CARAGA Police. It happened in the afternoon upon the day of the donation during the simple Ceremony of turning over of the donated weapons which was held at the PNP Regional Office in their Conference room.
Rafal then turned over the received weapons in the ceremony to Police Supt. Francisco Damayo Dungo. Dungo was (–foul word(s) removed–)igned as Butuan City Police Office Deputy City Director for Operations who is handling the Butuan City Police SWAT Unit.
Rafal in his message of thanking Rep. Aquino mentioned that, “The new high-powered firearms will be of great help to enhance operational capability of the police force to confront criminally, especially in the creation of the SWAT team a month ago”.
