Believing that the Reproductive Health Bill can become a solution for the improvement of situations concerning health and poverty in the Philippines, Presindet Benigno Aquino III promised on Sunday to push RH Bill to the Congress.
Aquino knows that if he pushes the RH Bill, the Roman Catholic Church might bestow him the risk of becoming excommunicated.
The reason behind such risk is that the Catholic Church does not support the law that will lead to sex education and even the use of conception.
The Roman Catholic Bishops of the Philippines promote a movement that will block the ratification of the RH Bill. For this cause, there is a big possibility on the delay of the implementation of the proposed bill knowing that the Catholic Church has the ability to deliver a big influence in making the final decision.
Out of the 94 million Filipinos, 80 % of the population are known to be under the Catholics religion.
The graduates of a premier state university was told through a speech made by the President saying that he commits himself to push a law that will enact the idea of valuing a responsible parenthood into the nation.
Aquino is aware that there are those who stand for opposition on the bill. However, he explained that being the country’s leader, he has the responsibility of considering principles that he believed to be right for his country. According to the President, he will even take the risk of excommunication for he knows that he will still have to pay attention on what his conscience will have to say.
Meanwhile, the bishops answered that in the country, abortion is strictly prohibited and there are various kinds of contraception that are similar to it. The Filipinos knew that abortion is an illegal action in the Philippines. Thus, Catholic Church suggests that in order to lessen the country’s problem regarding poverty, it will be better that they should tackle more on how they can stop corruption.
It is emphasized that President Aquino is pro-RH Bill as he tries to lift his hopes that it will be pushed on the Senate.
Study shows that the Philippines is one among the nations who have the highest percentage in connection to maternal deaths as there is an estimate of 11 female person who die every day due to the risk of giving birth.
