Alec Baldwin has confirmed Woody Allen that he will star in his new film. Allen, who shot most of his films completely in New York, will make a creative change this time and take his team to Rome for the forthcoming comedy project.

It would be Baldwin’s second team-up with 75-year-old director Allen, the two have first worked together in 1990’s Oscar nominated comedy movie ‘Alice’. It is not decided yet what character Baldwin will play in Allen’s film and the film’s title is not revealed as well. However, rumor is ‘The Social Network’ star Jesse Eisenberg is in line up to play a lead role in the movie.

A few days ago Spanish star Penelope Cruz was also reported to star in Woody’s comedy project. The 36-year-old actress told in Entertainment Weekly that she knows what she is doing next but without director’s (Woody Allen) permission she can not reveal any information about the film right now. The news of her confirmation for the project is not verified yet. Penelope has previously worked with Woody in 2008 film ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ for which she won a supporting actress Oscar.

Right now, the ’30 Rock’ star Alec Baldwin is also signed up for Adam Shankman’s musical ‘Rock of Ages’ in which he will appear with Tom Cruise, Diego Boneta, Julianne Hough, Russell Brand, and Paul Giamatti. Amy Adams is also reported to play a journalist’s role in the movie. Shankman’s film is scheduled to hit theaters next year on June 1 while release date for Allen’s film is not planned yet. Besides directing the project Allen will also write script for the film.
