United Nations aircraft crashed as it was about to land at Kinshasa airport on Monday afternoon leading to death of 32 people. U.N. spokesman, Farhan Haq, reported that only one person on board was able to survive at the plane crash.
The Bombardier CRJ-200 jet carried 29 p(–foul word(s) removed–)engers that include Congolese and foreigners on board together with its four crew members.
According to a Congo Transportation Ministry official, the said plane belongs to the U.N. mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo called MONUSCO.
At that moment, Kinshasa airport said that there were strong thunderstorms along with sustained winds of about 37 kph (23 mph).
Due to strong winds, the plane missed the airstrip based on the statement delivered in New York by Alain Le Roy, the UN Peacekeeping Director.
He added that among those who have been involved in the accident were mostly staffs of the United Nations while other p(–foul word(s) removed–)engers have been working for other private agencies.

Correspondent from Reuters at the airport of Kinshasa mentioned that the aircraft have been destroyed completely as its wreckage lies at the end of the landing strip.
