Burning of Koran in US brings Wrath to the people of Afghanistan

Kandahar protest brought great violence as cars have been burned and gunshots caused several injuries.Burning of Koran in the United States urged protests as five people were led to death in Kandahar City of Afghanistan.

Demonstrators of more than hundreds joined the protest. Gunshots have been heard leading to several bullet injuries while vehicles have been burned. Guards killed several protesters.

A day before the protest, seven UN staff have been killed inside their office in Mazar-i-Sharif on Friday.

The attack was considered to be the worst violence in Afghan’s UN mission after the 2001 international invasion happened.

The protest began peacefully as people gathered around the Blue Mosque in Mazar-i-Sharif City. Eventually, the peaceful demonstration turned out to be violent.

In fact, the United Nation’s Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemned that such violence was outrageous and cowardly.

Hamid Karzai, the president of Afghanistan even said that such cruel move contradicts the values observed by the Islamic religion.

According to a correspondent, dozens of injuries and were reported in the city Kandahar leading to its lockdown.

A public health ministry spokesman testifies that there were 45 injured individuals as death toll raised to five.

Taliban denies the issue that they were responsible for initiating the attack.

Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said via phone that the Taliban had nothing to do with such event.

By burning the Koran, Afghans were urged to be angry with foreign individuals who were known to be responsible of doing such act.

Security alert is raised higher for the workers of the United Nations but it takes no action with regards to their evacuation just the way they did in the year 2009 when UJN guesthouse attack happened said a correspondent.

Following Mazar-i Sharif demonstrations were the arrest of 27 people based on the reports stated by their local police authorities.

Wrath burst within the hearts of the demonstrators when the US Pastor Wayne Sapp lighted a copy of the Koran in the church of Florida on the 20th of March.

Burning the Koran was initiated under Pastor Jones’ supervision where he was known to draw condemnation over his plan to abort the burning of Koran copies during the 9/11 attacks anniversary. He as well denied that he was responsible for the Afghanistan’s lethal protest.

The city of Mazar-i Sharif is now declared under the state of emergency as roads of the said city were blocked and cars undergo careful checking.

Among the dead individuals were a Swedish national, a Norwegian and others were (–foul word(s) removed–)umed to be Romanians.

Barack Obama, the US President says that the UN’s role to the said attack is essential to build a stronger Afghanistan.

To solve the problems rising in this matter, Staffan De Mistura, Afghan’s UN representative came to the said area.

Director of communications for the UN mission, Kieran Dwyer says, “The UN is here to stay. We’re here to work with the people to help them achieve peace, and this sort of thing just highlights how important that is.”
