After the reconciliation of Taiwan and Philippines, Taiwan already allowed more than 1,000 Filipinos to work in their country at electronic and other manufacturing firms who has a great demand to double their production; this is according to the Filipino Recruitment Consultant.
The misunderstanding that erupted between the two nations has slowed down the processing of more than 6,000 working visa of Filipinos. As of now, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has ordered to speed up the processing, recruitment consultant Emmanuel Geslani said.
According to Deslani since March 18, over 1,000 new workers who have been waiting for more than a month to take up their job have already flown to the island nation after the restrictions were lifted.
The restriction on working visas of Filipinos has been imposed last February after the incident where 14 suspected Taiwanese criminals have been deported to China, instead of their island nation.
The said incident has triggered a misunderstanding between the two nations. Where Taiwan has demanded the Philippines to apologize for the deportation but Manila refused.
The action of the government to send former Senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, the personal emissary and chief troubleshooter of President Benigno Aquino III twice to Taiwan, has made the island nation agreed to lift their restrictions two weeks ago.
Jackson Gan, president of Pilipino Manpower Agencies Accredited to Taiwan (Pilmat) said that factories in Taiwan are in great need of workers after the rise in demand of electronic parts for gadgets including laptops, mobile phones and etc.
Such huge demands happened after the destructive 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami that strike the northeast part of Japan last March 11, 2011.
Due to the damage caused by the twin disaster to the nuclear power plant in Fukushima, Major Japanese Chip producing factories were forced to closed and shut down some of their plants.
