Philippine Azkals came home in celebration after winning against “Bengal Tiger” of Bangladesh in 3-0 score held in Myanmar, they arrived via connecting flight in Bangkok, March 27.
The players were very happy to be back home after making the country celebrate despite the two draws they got against Myanmar and Palestine.
Team Azkals is composed of diverse Filipinos with mixed blood, that is why, scoring the 3-goals were Ian Araneta (Filipino-Spanish) and Angel ‘Aldeguer Guirado.
This recent achievement is a proof that Philippine Football is now progressing.
After their victory, team Azkals were planning to take a break before going back to trainings as preparation for the Asian Qualifier for the FIFA World Cup 2014.
“We are very glad to have a chance to be qualified to the next round,” shared Caligdong.
Azkals experienced in the recent game in Myanmar was breathtaking because it was the make or break game for the team, it was there last chance in order to proceed for the next round to be able to advance to the tournament proper and with enough preparation and determination, they were able to make it.
For winning the game against Bengal Tiger, members of Team Azkals would be receiving $1,000 each.
