
Stand firm despite the worldly enticements that would come your way. These are the encouraging words coming from President Benigno Aquino addressed to the new Police and other public safety officers who graduated from the Philippine National Police Academy last Saturday.
In front of 260 graduates, President Aquino told them: “Aside from the wisdom and knowledge that has been imparted to you by the PNPA, you will also need principles to defeat corruption and poverty”.
He also told the graduates that huge amount of money might be offered to them to match their honor and some might offer them many powers to reverse their values. But he said that he expect the new police to stand on their principles against this kind of temptations.
Among the 260 new graduates, 219 of them will be deployed in PNP, 26 to BFP, and 15 to the BJMP.
Aquino added in his statement addressing to the new cops that now they are in the postion to promote what is right. He hope that they will not forget not to take for granted their duties and do it wiht all their hearts and faithfulness.
He said to the new graduates that he expect them to be helpers of the administration in fighting against corruption.
This year new graduate’s valedictorian came from Baguio City Aleli Buaguen, salutatorian Beverlie Allpitan of Cabagan, Isabela, and first honourable mention Cherifer Bayaga of Dingalan, Aurora.
The three were all girls and they are among the seven women who got the top ten spots in the PNPA’s order of merit this year.
Joining them on the top ten outstanding students in PNPA are Ron Carlo Ocido of Victorias City, Joy Anne Creus of Magallenes, Cavite; Maynard Pascual of Aurora, Isabela; Johnny Boy Itcay of Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte; Ma. Carizza Matel of Trece Martires City; Catherine Cas of Malinao, Albay; Neilmar Retana of Mahaplag, Leyte, and Rowena Soilano of Quezon, Palawan
In his closing statement, President Aquino told that graduates that when they are already in the real world, there are no scuh thing as low grades or demerits when they commit a mistake. Every thing that they do for their countrymen will never be matched by any reward or medal.
