Last Wednesday evening, the remains of the two ilonggo nurses who died in the m(–foul word(s) removed–)ive New Zealand earthquake last month has already been returned in the Philippines.
The remains of the two arrived in Manila around 1:00 pm in the afternoon and was brought to Iloilo afterwards were their grieving family members has been waiting for them. The two nurses were identified as Valquin Bensurto and Mary Louise Amantillo. According to Ronisa Bensurto Agraviador, older sister of Bensurto said in an interview that the bodies arrived in Iloilo around 6:50 pm.
Both victims who are 23 years old died after the Canterbury Television Building in Christchurch City collapsed during the February 22 earthquake that strikes New Zealand.
According to record there were eleven Filipinos who died in the 6.3 magnitude earthquake and most of them were attending the English-language proficiency cl(–foul word(s) removed–) at the Canterbury Television Building.
The two left for New Zealand on February 10 and enrolled in the English-language proficiency cl(–foul word(s) removed–) in CTV building for their employment when the earthquake stuck.
They were said to be close friends and cl(–foul word(s) removed–)mate at the Angelicum School and St. Paul University in Iloilo.
Bensurto Family is very much in pain for he was the youngest and the only son among the three siblings while Amantillo was the second of four siblings.
Despite the pain that the two families are feeling right now, they said that they have already accepted the fate of the two and that they are certain that where ever they are right now they are already happy.
Family of Bensurto said that they will burry the remains of Valquin on Sunday 1:00 pm at the Green garden Memorial Park in Jaro Iloilo. Amantillo will be buried in her hometown in Balasan in Iloilo at 3:00 pm on Monday.
