US citizens have received a warning from its government to avoid travelling to the Middle Eastern state of Yemen as it urges those who are there at present to depart from the said place as much as possible.
Due to terrorist activities and continuing civil unrest, the state department has said that the security threat level was extremely high.
UK had already gave its people the same advice before US announced the said travel warning.
US were threatened with the rise of many critical issues about Yemen’s current state.
In the previous weeks, several anti-government protests have been elaborated and there had been fatal clashes between the police and protesters.
While president Ali Abdullah Saleh continues to practice his power under his regime which started in 1978, demonstrations were held seeing protesters cry for his resignation.
In addition, the desire for having wider job opportunities, fairness in the distribution of wealth and to stop the activities of corruption are all that protesters wanted to have.
However, the president strongly defends his term “with every drop of blood” though he said that he does not plan to continue his term in office by the year 2013.
Yemen have experienced attacks by a branch of al-Qaeda, hit by separatists movement in the south and had conflicts with Shia tribes in the north.
Four soldiers have been killed when al-Qaeda militants were suspected to attack the east of the capital Sanaa.
A Yemeni Official also said hat a fire was brought up against soldiers who p(–foul word(s) removed–)ed in a truck which is about 170 km from the capital.
Moreover, in the northern part of Yemen, a report came that rockets have been fired by the army towards the anti-government protest therewith.
With this, a line from the state department says that “Should a crisis occur, evacuation options from Yemen would be extremely limited due to the lack of infrastructure, geographic constraints and other security concerns.”
There is a limited (–foul word(s) removed–)istance for the US citizens as it has been said that Emb(–foul word(s) removed–)y have described their ability to be “very limited”.
Even a threat towards the maritime activities exists as that of the Piracy in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean.
Unwanted events keep on coming out from various media. Those became alarming threats so the US keeps on giving warning to its people as it must take charge of their protection.
