Woman Charged for a Fatal Fire in US had fled to Nigeria

The owner of Jackie’s Child Care was charged with reckless injury to a child that includes serious bodily injury during the day care fire in the United States last week.

Charged for the case was Jessica Rene Tata, 22. Unfortunately, she was able to flee to Nigeria based on the confirmation given by the officials of Houston Fire Department (HFD).

According to Alicia Whitehead, HFD spokeswoman, they have made a request on the US Marshals Service to (–foul word(s) removed–)ist them in locating the said woman and bring her back to the US.

Investigators for the Houston Fire Department had turned over Tata’s case to the US Marshals Service at around 3pm Saturday according to Alfredo Perez, US Marshals Service spokesman.

Perez said that they have been looking for Tata and they are actively working for such case as a fugitive investigation.

The charge towards Tata was from the Office of the Attorney of Harris County District. Officials said that a $500,000 bond has been set as more charges could be filed and could possibly be upgraded.

Witnesses have stated that the only adult employee who was left that day was Tata who might have been inside the house or may just be running out of the building that time.

Based on the law enforcement source, the accused left the children but went to a store when the fire had begun. Smoke surrounded the house when she returned and screamed for help.

However, his brother, Ron Tata had denied those charges for he believed that his sister was inside the house when the fire began and p(–foul word(s) removed–)ed out.

In summary, the event which is under Tata’s supervision have lead to the death of the 3-year-old Shomari Leon Dickerson of Houston, 19 months Elizabeth Kajoh of Cypress,  20 months Kendyll Stradford of Katy and 16 months Elias Castillo of Houston. On the other hand, 2 year-old Maykala Dickerson is presently in the hospital.

Donna Hawkins, spokeswoman for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, said that “the case remains under investigation” when she was asked if there will still be another charges that is related to the case.
