International singing sensation Charice Peempengco tweeted last February 8 “So proud of my friend, Thia being on American Idol. Good luck to you, young lady and see you here in Hollywood! Miss u!”.
Charice was so proud of her “Kababayan” and wishing the 15-year old singer Thai Megia all the success.
Thia Megia is now part of American Idol’s Top 24.
During the audition, judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler were amazed of her performance.
She performed her rendition of “Chasing Pavement” by Adele.
Megia is one of the favourites among other ‘American Idol’ contestants and said to be the next Charice Peempengco.
Megia met Charice in 2009 during the ‘David Foster and Friends’ concert in Vancouver, Canada. That year, she was a semi-finalist in the America’s Got Talent Season 4.
Thia Megia was born in Redwood City, California in 1995. She was previously one of the Top-40 contestants on America’s Got Talent Season 4 of NBC’s talent competition series.
