Philippine President Congratulates Azkal’s Dominance Over Mongolia

Philippine Azkals Victory against Mongolia

President Benigno Simeon Aquino III of the Philippines leads the Filipinos in congratulating the Philippine National Football Team over their triumphed against the visiting Mongolian Blue Wolves Team. The Azkals have won the first leg of the qualifier for the Asian Football Federation Challenge Cup.

The President was quoted as saying “I am grateful to you for bringing pride and honor to the Filipinos the world over.Your two goals both showed Filipino creativity and the hardwork you put in to master your sport”. His statement was released to the media after the Azkals beat Mongolia with a score of 2-0.

The presidents further adds “You brought our people together, and reminded us once again that, united, we can reclaim our nations glory”. President Aquino have supported the team by giving 3 million pesos from his social fund for the organizational needs of the team.

The first goal scored by the Azkals came from Emilio “Chieffy” Caligdong, a native of Barotac Nuevo, Ilo-ilo home of the finest football player in the Philippines. Caligdong have proven himself that he is still capable of playing side by side with Fil-foreign players. It was his first goal since 2008.

The second goal of the game came from the Azkals most favorite player, Phil Younghusband. With a sneaky p(–foul word(s) removed–) from Jason Sabio, the midfielder muffed his attempt but followed it up with a curling shot that sent the 18,000 filipinos in jubilations. Younghusband acknowledged the crowd by doin a cartwheel. The Azkals have scored their second goal and never looked back.

The Philippine Azkals have dominated the entire game having given at least 7 goal scoring attempts at first half alone against the Mongolians two attempts. Even Neil Etheridge the goalkeeper played like a midfielder in order to help the Azkals attacked the Blue Wolves defense.

Younghusbands goal against Mongolia

German coach Hans Michael Weiss was so overwhelmed by the support of the adoring Filipino fans who had jampacked the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City. The fans was certainly a morale booster to the Azkals. After the game the German coach had made a statement, he was quoted as saying “The Philippines is now in the competition”.
