Canada requested ICC to grant their players visas

Rizwan Cheema -Vice-Captain and one of the Pakistani in Canada's Squad

President of Canadian national cricket team, Mr. Ranjit Saini has made a humble request to International Cricket Council to look forward in to their current biggest issue of delay in acquiring of India’s Visas to be granted to 3 players of the players that are not Canadian by birth rather originating from the land of Pakistan -who are listed in the World Cup squad and scheduled to play in India as well. Canada cricket team has flee for dubai for a scheduled ten day training camp before the grand tournament (World Cup), but the vice captain of Canada team Rizwan Cheema, Hamza Tariq and Khurram Chohan are those three Pakistani players are the ones who has yet to acquire visas for India.

Saini had written a letter to president of ICC Sharad Pawar that was asking him to pay attention to the visas matter that are still in Dubai and are supposed to fly to India for the Biggest tournament in Cricket. He also hoped in the letter that even if ICC will not grant them visas , atleast they will be able to schedule the matches on appropriate stadiums on which those three Pakistani players can play (i.e. Sri Lanka, or Bangladesh).

An application for visas had already been sent to, before Canada had a visit to India during the month of November for preparatory intentions  for upcoming World Cup. Whereas rest of the Canadian squad didn’t face any trouble except those three Pakistani players who are part of the squad -as they were also ruled out of that particular visit to India. In the beginning of January, Saini informed Pakistan’s daily mail that because of the lack of those three players -they suffered from interruption in the training plans. He further said that it is demoralizing and damaging their spirit to a great extend.

Canada has planned to play practice games vs Ireland & Afghanistan in Gulf before they fly to Bangladesh for their 2 official warm up matches vs England and Bangladesh. They are scheduled to play against Sri Lanka in their first match of the world cup scheduled at 20th of February and their first match in India will be vs Zimbabwe on 28th February. Although ICC has (–foul word(s) removed–)ured the Canadian Team that their Pakistani players will be granted with Visas, but statements of the (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation on their own website reveals that the present situation has made the conditions in pretty awkward and odd position.
