Danica Flores Magpantay was the newly crowned 2011 Ford Supermodel of the World. Ford Supermodel was the most prestigious modelling search for it produces top supermodels from different countries. The winner of the 2011 Ford Supermodel was announced on Sunday. For the first time the Philippines have emerged as the winner.

Danica Flores Magpantay was a Fine Arts student at the University of the Philippines, she was just 17 years old. The Pinay stands 5’9″  and weights 109 pounds.  She was a proud daughter of the former Supermodel of the World Philippines, Milagros “Lala” Flores. His father Pogs Magpantay encouraged her to do modelling. Danica have finished her high school studies from Colegio de San Agustin.

Organizers of the Ford Supermodel have described Danica having the “perfect designer’s body”, (30,22,30). The Ford Supermodel title carries a huge amount of money worth, US$ 250,000 contract for the Eileen Ford Modelling Agency and a chance to worked with the top retail brands and fashion designs  in the world.

Ford Supermodel had awarded contracts before to two Filipinas namely Charlene Almarvez  2009 and Charo Ronquillo in 2006 but those two previous models were only second runner up. This is the first time that a Filipina have been voted as the top model. Charo Ronquillo was even tagged as Asia’s Kate Moss.

Danica was way ahead against the first runner-up from Lithuania who received US$ 150,000 modelling contract, and second runner-up from Poland with US$ 100,000.

This is indeed another astonishing achievement for a Filipina, once again the Filipino people have proven to the world that beauties and talents will uplift the dignity and  standing of Filipinos worldwide.
