The Samsung Focus is another mobile phone powered by Windows Phone 7. It is featuring a 4 inches Super AMOLED display. The processor speed is 1 GHz with only 8 GB of the internal memory storage. The RAM is 512 MB. The Focus is the thinnest Windows Phone 7 mobile in market with 4.9 inches by 2.53 inches. The mobile is 0.39 thick and has a light weight of 4 ounces. It is mainly made of plastic, which give it a cheap look compared to the iPhone 4 or G2. When you compare it with its brother Omnia 7, you will see that huge difference that the Focus lacks the metal construction even if the design is good. The mobile is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera and an LED Flash. The Focus is also featuring WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS connectivity.
A major issue with the Focus is the low internal memory storage of 8 GB only. Also, the microSD slot is not working effectively on this mobile. The screen is really looking good with fair and clear colors. The text is also looking sharp but still not as bright as LCD. The battery life of the Samsung has a substantial life of 1500mAh but still will not last a full day under extensive use. The audio quality is good with descent earpieces and speakers. The camera has a 5 megapixel sensor with auto focus lens that surprisingly give good quality shots compared to other Windows Phone 7 devices. The video recording is 720p with some stability issues. The OS is well designed but needs to refresh all the time for updates. There is not much difference between Wondows 7 in Focus and the other mobiles using the same OS.
The Samsung focus is certainly with no special features since Samsung did not customize the Windows Phone 7 it used but still efficient. It is slim and thin compared to others but the plastic material makes less desirable for some. However, the Focus is a comfortable mobile that works as you expect.
