Football in the United Kingdom has been center of attention in the media. The future of this game has been discussed a lot and many viewpoints were raised. Football in England is a very popular sport watched by most of the British.

The Premier League does not include only Manchester United or Chelsea or Liverpool. It is about the whole situation of football in England. The clubs are enjoying a life of delight thanks to the foreign investors, Sky and its sponsors. Once you talk about how the British play football, hard tackling, hearted and furious football comes to mind. This is the image of the British football in the whole world. Most of the observers claim that football in England is ineffective and based on toughness rather than tactic.

Trevor Brooking was one of the holders of such ideas. He claimed that the youth are well coached which lags England behind. The young boys do not integrate at an early age. As a result, their technique is not comparable to the players in Spain, Italy or France. These kids have to learn p(–foul word(s) removed–)ing controlling the ball and the game when they are young. The coaching techniques are not well established. Overall, all the structure is wrong. Trevor Brooking has given the example of the player Fabregas Cesc who has been playing with Arsenal coming from Barcelona when he was sixteen years old. He stated that his body is the proof that Spanish youth are highly developed in football. He is an exceptional player who started playing at the age of six with Barcelona. This has played an important role in making Fabregas to develop his potentials very early. On the other hand, some would argue that he is a gifted player that did not learn how to trap a ball. He simply grasped the rules of the game as he learned how to walk.

The actual English football is attracting more and more foreign players and coaches. That would make us wonder about the future situation of football in Britain. With the coming of these players and coaches, the traditional way of playing football will certainly change. These players may be providing better game and entertainment, but finally the English game loses its identity. If the premier league changes, may be then the sponsors will no longer find it worth the investment. Then, their money will go somewhere else.
