Drug War To Return To PNP, Duterte Says

President Rodrigo Duterte said that the drug war could probably return to Philippine National Police (PNP) if it becomes worse again.

On Saturday (November 18, 2017), President Duterte said that if the drug problem will get worse again, the police have no choice but to enter the scene again.

Mr. Duterte has removed the anti-illegal drug campaign from the PNP and transferred it to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for the second time.

PNP’s war on drugs has been first suspended last January 2017 after the reports regarding of some policemen who allegedly murdered a Korean businessman inside Camp Crame has been exposed.

The drug war has removed again from the PNP after the death of two teenagers in Caloocan City.

The president also said that he wanted to eradicate the problem of illegal drugs nationwide as possible, which he described as the root of various crimes in the Philippines.

“So you create insane people and new slaves. You turn citizens into slavery to ache for a chemical every day. If you do not have the money, you have to steal. If you do not have the money, you have to kill,” Duterte said quoted by Philstar.
