Vice Pres. Elect Leni Robredo Vows 100 Percent Support for Mayor Duterte

Vice Pres. elect Leni Robredo became the second female Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines and right after his victorious announcement by the National Board of Canvassers, the former lawmaker vowed her 100 percent support to the presidency of Mayor Rody Duterte. She vowed to give her “100 percent” support to the incoming President Rody Duterte.

Right after the annoucement of winner of the Vice Presidential race, the 51-year-old lawmaker from the Bicol Region thanked “all those who belived in me from the start when I started from zero,” she stated during the interview .

Rep. Robredo also noted that the elections became vicious, but she didn’t pressure those who did not like her, but hope time will come when she will be given the chance for them to know her. Because if they’ll know her, their negative perceptions will be dispelled, the lawmaker stated.

The Camarines Sur lawmaker ran under the banner of the administration party, Liberal Party of the Philippines, whose standard-bearer, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, came in second place in the final congressional canvassing of votes for President.

At the end of the canvassing by the joint session of the Senate and House of the Representatives – convening as the National Board of Canvassers – Robredo got 14,418,817 votes or a lead of 263,473 votes over her closest rival Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
