Ramon Bautista Apology Is Enough To Lift Persona Non Grata-Duterte

The presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte said, Comedian Ramon Bautista is welcome in Davao City. He said that the apology of the comedian is enough to lift the persona non grata order against him in Davao City.

Duterte discussed in the interview how hard he tried to dissuade his children. He repeatedly said that apology was enough to forgive Bautista for what he did. He added that Ramon Bautista is a citizen of the republic and has the right to go to Davao.

Duterte said that if he will have his way, Bautista would not have been declared persona non grata in Davao City. According to him, as long as a person is not a drug lord… because he would really kill it.

The Comedian gets criticized after calling Davao women ‘hipon’. Bautista was asked to go back on stage to apologize and he even wrote a public apology through his Instagram account. It can be recalled that Bautista.

“Ang daming hipon dito sa Davao!” implying that Davaoeños are ugly and continued to shout, “hipon! hipon! hipon…! ” However, his joke insulted the Davaoeños as well as Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte and Mayor-elect Sarah Duterte.

Persona non grata means person of no status which implies that a person is not welcome to the place and will not be allowed to enter such area.
