Abu Sayyaf Just Took An Innocent Life – A Canadian
Abu Sayyaf once again made a decision that will sadden not only Canada, but also the whole world.
Canadian National John Ridsdel, one of their four h0stages, has been sentenced to d3ath.
The man’s head was found yesterday, dumped out of the city hall of Jolo,Sulu – the Southern most part of the Philippines and a strong Islamist group.
Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada and other Filipino authorities have identified the v1ctim.
John Ridsdel, a retiree of mid 60s who was k1dnapped last September 2015, along with a Norweigian, another Canadian, and a Filipino.
Trudeau said, “this was an act of cold-blooded murd3r and responsibility rests with the t3rrorists group who took him h0stage.”
The four were hidden near the city of Davao. The other three were identified as Kjartan Sekkingstad, a Norwegian resort manager, Robert Hall and girlfriend Marites Flor, a Filipino.
The gunmen released a video of them six weeks after they were captivated, demanding for $21 million for the release of the other three.
In the latest video released, Ridsdel announced that his captors will definitely k1ll him if the ransom of $6.4 million is not paid, on April 25th.
Ridsdel was a sailing enthusiast, journalist, and oil executive who have had moved in the country to manage mine before finally retiring.
As of the moment, Trudeau is working with the country to find the prosecut0rs and great efforts are on the way to securely release the other vict1ms.
National police and military said in a statement, “There will be no let-up in the determined efforts of the joint task group’s intensive military and law enforcement operations to neutralise these lawless elements”.
The statement was released early this Tuesday.
Southeast Asian security expert ,Zachary Abuza, told AFP, “I don’t see the Abu Sayyaf as an ideological threat”.
