Various banks in the Philippines announced online their operations for Holy Week 2016 as they noted that their banking operations will be limited on Thursday, March 24, and Friday, March 25. The adjusted schedules of different banks in the Philippines showcased their support to the Filipinos observance of the Holy Week.
Some of the country’s major banking institutions such as the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), Banco de Oro Banking Corporation (BDO) Unibank, Metrobank and Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank) released their official banking schedule this week.

Banco de Oro (BDO) Unibank:
According to BDO Unibank all its branches will be open until Wednesday, March 23, but will be closed on Thursday and Friday. The regular banking operations of all BDO branches will resume on Monday, March 28, 2016.
The bank’s ATM network and online channels, meanwhile, are ready to handle transactions and other banking services, respectively, during the Lenten break,” the bank said.
Metrobank:
The Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company (Metrobank) announced that only select branches will be open from Thursday, March 24, to Sunday, March 27. Metrobank posts the full list of Metrobank branch schedules on their official website.
Metrobank said its MetrobankDirect Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Metrophone, and ATMs will be available during Holy Week.
“The public is also advised that there will be no check clearing from March 24 to 27, 2016. Checks deposited shall be processed for clearing and for value on March 28, 2016. While payments received after March 23, 2016 (Wednesday) shall be processed on March 28, 2016 (Monday),” the bank added.
Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI)
According to BPI all branches and kiosks of BPI and BPI Family Savings Bank will be closed Thursday, March 24, to Sunday, March 27. Regular banking operations will resume on Monday, March 28.
BPI added that it will perform a systems maintenance from 9 p.m. of Thursday, March 24, to 9 p.m. of Friday, March 25.
PSBank
The Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank) said that all its branches nationwide will be closed on Thursday, March 24, March 24, and Friday, March 25. Its ATMs, PSBank Mobile and PSBank Online will be available for banking transactions.
