Mayor Duterte Criticized by Netizens After Cursing Pope Francis (Video)

Presidential candidate and the tough-talking mayor of Davao City, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte was critized by netizens after cursing Pope Francis during his speech in a political event attended by the members and supporters of PDP-Laban, the party that officially announced the mayor’s candidacy for President in 2016.

During the speech of the 70-year-old Mayor Rodrigo Duterte he revealed that he was angered over the bad traffic situation in Metro Manila during the visit of the head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis last January 2015 which caused too much traffic in some parts of the Metro.

Mayor Duterte was quoted as saying “From the hotel to the airport, alam mo bang inabot kami ng limang oras. Sabi ko bakit? Sabi pinasarado daw. Gusto kong tawagan, Pope put****** ka umuwi ka na. Wag ka nang bumisita dito,” Duterte said.

Although the statement of Mayor Duterte was merely a joke, his lines doesn’t sit well with netizens who criticized the tough-talking mayor with his statement as they express their anger saying his joke was foul and disrespectful, to the man whom most Catholics considered as the father of their faith.
