According to research, the ability to look into a mirror is one of the cognitive skills every human possessed and we develop this skills when we’re just 18 months old.
The video above which became viral online was an experiment conducted by French photographer Xavier Hubert Brierre. He travelled to Gabon with his wife to set up a mirror in several locations inside the jungle and captured the wild animals reactions upon seeing their mirror image.
Other animals who pass the so-called “mirror test” include bonobos, chimps, dolphins, elephants, and some birds. Animals that fail this test include a host of creatures, including cats and dogs.
