Reasons Why Sarah G. Was Emotional During Jason Dy’s Victory in “The Voice PH”

Coach Sarah Geronimo of Team Sarah was so emotional during the time when Jason Dy was announced as the ultimate grand winner of the country’s most popular singing competition, The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 on Sunday night, March 1, 2015. The Pop Star Princess, Sarah G., revealed the reasons why she was so emotional in an interview with ABS-CBN.

The 26-year-old Sarah Geronimo was seen crying as she watched Jason Dy performed the song “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” for his final performance in the top-trending singing competition on national TV. Sarah G. immediately got down on her knees with her palms on her face and could not stop the tears flowing from her as she congratulated Jason Dy.

According to Sarah Geronimo, the reason why she broke down during the finale of The Voice Ph, was because he had a flashback on her own personal experience while watching Jason Dy after winning the title.

Sarah Geronimo revealed that the date was also memorable for her, and she was quoted as saying “Pareho kaming March 1 nanalo,” she said. “Grabe ito, unexpected. Ang ine-expect ko ‘yung worst na eh. Ganun kasi ako eh. Hindi ako nag-e-expect ng kahit ano. Kaya sobrang gulat na gulat ako. Nanghina ako kanina.” she said.

The date was just one of the reason why she cried but most importantly the experienced that she went through while starting out on her own in the music industry. Sarah Geronimo won the talent competition “Star for a Night” on March 1, 2003.

Jason Dy was declared as the winner of The Voice PH Season 2 and brought home a P2 million in cold cash, a house and lot, a brand new car, a music instrument package, a business package, an Asian tour package for two and a recording and managing contract with MCA Music.
