Actress Evanna Lynch who portrays the role of Luna Lovegood in the world-renowned Harry Potter series visited the worst hit Tacloban City, Leyte. She spent three days in the country along with officials of United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) Ireland.
The 22-year-old Irish actress-model arrived in the country on Monday, June 2, 2014 and she was joined by officials of Unicef Ireland. Her visit in the Yolanda (Haiyan) hit area was part of the organization’s “Voices of Children in Emergencies” campaign.
The Harry Potter actress even shared some snap of her visit in the country. Evanna Lynch or popularly known as Luna Lovegood visited children housed in bunkhouses. The Ireland-based star also assisted on the immunization of babies conducted by the organzation.
“Life has been beautifully simplified here and everywhere people are united in their efforts of restoration. Feeling very lucky to be a part of what the UNICEF Ireland team are doing here,” she said in a Twitter post.
Evanna Lynch took to her Instagram account where she shared a photo of children from Abucay village in Tacloban while singing the Philippine national anthem. Another photo she shared on the image-sharing site is young girl holding a camera.
According to Inquirer.net, Evanna Lynch visit ends today, June 4, 2014. She will returning to her country in due time. “Education is the only way out. I’ve met many parents here, education for their kids is their only dream,” the actress said via Unicef Philippines.
Evanna Lynch came to prominence upon starring in at least four Harry Potter films. She was featured in the series including Order of the Phoenix, Half Blood Prince and Deathly Hollows 1 & 2.
