San Mig, Rain or Shine Rekindles Rivalry, Open Series Today

Momentum is on San Mig Coffee side as it looks to ride with inspiring game seven win to draw first blood in its best-of-seven finals affair with the Elasto painters. James Yap and Peter June Simon are both coming from a high-scoring game with 30 and 28 points respectively.

But the Manila Cl(–foul word(s) removed–)ico experience might turn out as a drawback instead of an advantage for the Mixers as fatigue and scouting favor the coach Yeng Guiao-mentored squad.

“That’s really an advantage. One good thing about it was that we’re able to clear our minds for a few days, not thinking about anything. Nakaipon kami ng lakas,” said Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao. (Statement from interAksyon.com)

The Elasto painters also had success in playoff games against San Mig in the past, emerging as one of the archenemies of Coach Tim Cone and the rest of the mixers.

The series opener will tip-off at 8 pm live in TV 5.
