Massive Ice Balls Washed Ashore in Lake Michigan (Videos)

After a massive attack of polar vortex in Lake Michigan, boulder size of ice balls began forming due to Due to -15˚Fahrenheit temperature.

Chunks of ice blast by the ocean waves forming some layers of sphere shaped ice which looked like a weird gigantic dinosaur eggs will be feature in the shorelines of Lake Michigan.

On the video clip uploaded on YouTube by Glen Arbor, resident of Lake Michigan, it shows thousands of rounded, boulder-sized ice balls which bounces up and down of the shoreline.

According to Tom Ulrich, Deputy Superintendent of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, “It happens more often than that, but these are very large and got bigger than they normally get,” he explained.

Major parts of the United States are currently experiencing the winter phenomenon, “polar vortex.” The areas affected includes New Jersey, Lake Michigan and among others.

The temperature in the affected parts plunge to their lowest levels breaching sub-zero temperature which resulted to  business  operations to cease and thousands of flights have been cancelled.

Meanwhile, the authorities had already given safety precautions  on the residents affected advising them to refrain going outside their houses for the risk of intense cold might cause.
