The Voice Philippines Battle Rounds between MJ Podolig and Darryl Shy was dubbed as the battle of the strummers on Saturday as Darryl Shy of Baguio and MJ Podolig of Sorsogon gave their own unique twist to the OPM cl(–foul word(s) removed–)ic “Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling Ka.”
Both MJ and Darryl played the guitar the first time in the battle round’s performances. Altough their rendition have some minor flaws but guest adviser Gerald Salonga could not hide his disappointment after the song.
Coach Lea Salonga also singled out Podolig for oversinging and putting too many ad libs in the songs, but in the end she decided and chose Darryl Shy as the one to continue in the next round of The Voice of the Philippines.
