Ateneo Defeated Adamson Scored First UAAP Victory

The five-time depending champion Ateneo Blue Eagles scored their very first victory in the UAAP Season 76 Men’s basketball tournament after they defeated the Adamson Falcons with the final score at 71-59 on Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Blue Eagles stars Juami Tiongson scored with 15 points and JP Erram contributed with 12 points and 12 rebounds leading the Blue Eagles first victory through their third quarter role in the match up against the UAAP host Adamson Falcons.

Although Tiongson and Erram have their own contribution during the game, it was Ryan Buenafe’s near triple-double performance of 11 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 (–foul word(s) removed–)ists, only 1 (–foul word(s) removed–)ist left for a remarkable game, ending the Eagles three straight defeats in Season 76.

Without Ateneo’s superstar cager Kiefer Ravena who only played a limited minutes for the Blue Eagles, the team still managed to score a victory against Adamson. Kiefer Ravena already missed the last two games because of an ankle injury. With Adamson’s loss, they slid down in team standing with 2-2 win-loss card.
