Roel Manlangit: PGT 4 Grand Winner (Video)

YouTube singing sensation Roel Manlangit was declared as the ultimate winner of the Season 4 of the Pilipinas Got Talent, continuing the legacy of singers dominating the Philippines most prestigious talent search.

The 13-year-old Roel Manlangit is also dubbed as “Boy Whitney” after his video posted on YouTube singing a Whitney Houston original went viral on YouTube. Roel Manlangit got 30% of the over-all PGT 4 votes.

Coming in second place after Roel Manlangit is dancer Frankendal Fabroa who received 26% of votes, followed by MP3 Band who finished third in voting. Manlangit was the youngest contestant who made it to the finals of the competition.

The singer from Bukidnon, who lost his home during Typhoon Pablo, made a unique rendition of Bamboo’s original “Noypi.” Although the three judges, Kris, Ai-Ai and FMG were vocal about not having a singer as ultimate winner but they could not resists the people’s choice.

Roel Manlangit followed the footsteps of singers, Jovit Baldivino of Season 1, Marcelito Pomoy of Season 2, and the Maasinhon Trio of Season 3 as the ultimate winner of PGT having singing as their talent. He goes home with a P2-million grand prize.
