Phenomenal South Korean star Psy’ smashes another YouTube record after his latest single titled “Gentleman” received more than 50 million views on YouTube.
The “Gangnam Style” star Psy re-rewrite the video-sharing site’s records for single-day hits. The music video “Gentleman” was first posted on YouTube at 9:00 PM (1200 GMT). During the first day, it already racked up around 20 million hits, destroying the previous record for single-day views of 8 million set by Justin Bieber.
The video also registered a total of 51 million in 40 hours based upon the announcement made by Psy on his official Twitter account. The viral video “Gentleman” features Psy, wearing his signature sungl(–foul word(s) removed–), dancing at various locations in and around Seoul.
Aside from breaking YouTube records, the hit song “Gentleman” was ranked in the Top 10 songs in iTunes stores in a number of countries on Monday, including France, Canada, New Zealand, Denmark and Sweden as well as France.
