PBA Import playing for Petron, Renaldo Balkman melt down and went wild at the end of their 73-83 loss against Alaska Aces on Friday night, March 8, 2013. The 6 foot 6 import and former Knicks player confronted referees, defying coaches, and choking teammate Arwind Santos.
Balkman was frustrated after a non-call on an offensive play late in the match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, confronting the referees and later showing away Petron coaches and players who tried to pacify him.
At first it was teammate Ronald Tubid who was pushed by Balkman and when Santos stepped in and retaliated after being shoved by Balkman, the import completely lost his temper and choke Arwind Santos.
The meltdown of Balkman put a stunning end to Petron’s first loss afte a five-game winning streak which established Petron import as the finest in the tournament.
