Kapamilya actor Matt Evans finally broke his silence and made his official statement on the charge that he allegedly hurt his live-in partner, Johnelline Hickins and brother Juan Alberto Carlota.
During an interview with ABS-CBN, Evans stated that all he wanted is to not sensationalized the issue for he was hurt with the false claims of Hickins, the mother of his child.
He was quoted as saying that “Halo-halo ang emotion, nandiyan yung alam mo na nandoon yung dagdag-bawas [sa kwento]. Saka yung inis. Nagalit din ako. Saka siyempre nasaktan din talaga,” he said.
Matt stated that he was outraged with the allegations especially when he found out that the accuser were making false allegations against him. They were making the story contrary to the real situation, Matt clarified.
According to the legal counsel of Evans, Atty. Joji Alonzo, the actor didn’t hurt Hickins. Even the allegations that Matt Evans who arrived in the residence of Hickins being drunk is not true.
During Matt arrivals in the house of Hickins he was even prepared for their food, the allegations that Matt pushed Hickins was not true also because the actor was downstairs when the incident happened.
There were reports earlier that Matt Evans held a knife but the truth is that there is only one knife in the scene, and the legal counsel of Evans clarified that it was Carlotta, the brother of Johnelline who was holding the knife.
Matt Evans also confirmed that it was Carlotta who held a knife and he could do nothing but to escape from the scene.
The actor was quoted as saying that ”
Kumuha po siya [Carlotta] ng kutsilyo, lumayo po ako,” said Evans.
“Ako po yung tipo ng taong kahit anong problema ang ibigay mo sa akin ay ngingitian ko lang tatawanan ko lang. Hindi po ako mananakit, hindi po ako nananakit, hindi po mabigat ang kamay ko. Kung may problema, as much as possible, gusto ko inaayos kaagad, hindi po pinakukumplika,” he said.
According to Matt Evans his girlfriend Hickins visited three times while he was in jail and he asked her three times to withdraw the complaint.
Matt Evans also clarified some issue, he stated that the rift started from a very small misunderstanding which involves his friends. The actor stated that Hickins told him about her plans to surprise him on his birthday but it went wrong.
Right after the incident that happened to their relationship, Evans believes that he and Hickins can never be together again, even if they had already talked about getting married.
