Smart Gilas led the first half of the game between the Philippines and the Chinese Taipei Team after the three-points of the Philippines started to sunk in with 3 out of 6 shots compared to the 0-4 in the first half.
Marcus Douthit contributed with a total of 13 points and 11 rebounds, Larry Fonacier had 9 points, Gary David contributed with 8 points. The Philippines had a total of 38 points after they dominated the second half with 28 points compared to the 19 points by Taiwan in the second quarter.
The first half started with a low-scoring ball-game, Philippines scored with 10 points while Taiwan scored with 13 points and led the first quarter.
Taiwan’s Chreigton topscored for his team with a total of 11 points scoring 3 three-pointers. Other Taiwanese scorers were Lin who scored with 9 while Mao had 4 points.
