Tsunami Warnings Issued After 7.9 Earthquake Hits the Philippine Coasts

The USGS have confirmed the 7.9 Earthquake hits the Eastern coast of the Philippine island of Samar. The earthquake hits at around 12:47:34. The epicenter was located at 93 kms. East of Sulangan, Samar island in the Philippines with a depth of 34.9 kms.

  • Geme, Indonesia = 13:35 GMT
  • Legazpi, Philippines = 13:38 GMT
  • Davao, Philippines = 13:40 GMT
  • Yap Island = 14:17 GMT
  • Taitung, Taiwan = 14:41 GMT

The tsunami warnings have been issued already in different parts of South Pacific islands, Southern and Eastern Asia and the Indian Ocean islands.

The Philippine government agency Phivolcs through Dir. Solidum urges public to take caution. Tsunami Alert Level 3 issued for Surigao del Norte, Samar, Southern Leyte.
