NAIA Renovation Proposals from Rivera, Layug and Cobonpue

Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 was dubbed as the worst airport in the world by one of the popular travel magazine. The reported evaluation by a certain website caused an uproar to the Filipino people.

Due to the bad publicity of the Philippines most vital air hub in the world, renowned Filipino designers and patriots came up with a proposal of renovation and rehabilitation video that was posted initially on the Facebook page of Kenneth Cobonpue.

The pro-bono proposal was made by Filipino designer Kenneth Cobonpue, Budji Layug and Royal Pineda in cooperation with the National Competitive Council of the Philippines.

The three prominent names in designs were making the effort to redeemed the name of the Philippines busiest international airport. They said in a statement that “Its time someone did something about the worst airport in the world. So we made this design because we believe that no matter how beautiful our country is, our airports give the first and last impressions. This plan is relatively inexpensive and simple to adapt. The plan also involves renovating the interiors to allow faster flow of travelers between security, immigration and departure” they stated.

They adds further that “The first step has been done. Lets hope our government moves on this proposal quickly.” according to the statement of the world’s most recognized names in the design industry.

Here is the video posted on the Facebook page of Cobonpue and was reposted at the video sharing site YouTube:
