Jinkee Pacquiao, wife of boxing champ and pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao, revealed in the Philippine Entertainment Portal that there was an invitation given to her to appear in the US talk show Ellen DeGeneres but sadly declined it.
The show Ellen DeGeneres is one of the hit talk show in US which is being aired in CBS and has guest several Filipinos, including international singing sensation Charice Pempengco and Youtube Sensation Maria Aragon.
According to Jinkee Pacquiao, she declined the offer because the show will be shooting live and this is her first time to appear in an American show, so she is quite nervous.
She further explained that she is not confident enough in speaking the English language and she don’t want to get embarr(–foul word(s) removed–)ed in the front of national Television.
“Tapos siyempre, English ‘yun, so baka mag-nosebleed ako. Hindi ako fluent sa English, inaamin ko naman ‘yun,” Jinkee said.
Jinkee also expressed her regrets and sadness for declining the offer knowing that this is such an honor and big opportunity to her but she said that she is just being true to herself and she doesn’t want to be criticized by the public.
The management of the show respects and understands the decision made by Jinkee, but Mrs. Pacquaio still expresses the hope that maybe sometime in the future she can guest in the show and be one of the Filipinos invited in the show.
