Proposed Hero’s Burial for former President Ferdinand Marcos is now kicking off at the House of Representative.

Stated in the resolution, “Ferdinand Marcos must be given invaluable service to our country as commander-in-chief, soldier, statesman, and writer.” Without denigrating the achievement of the officials and leaders that emerged after ‘EDSA People Power Revolution’ in 1986, it can never be contradicted.”

Spearheading the proposal and call for signatures was Marcos regime agricultural minister turned Congressman to date, Salvador Escuedero from Sorsogon. Just like Marcos supporter, he believes that the former president deserved to receive hero’s burial.

The said resolution aims to bury the remains  of the late president at “Libingan ng mga Bayani.”

Despite his controversial and dictatorship way of governing the country for 20 years, still it could not be denied that his leadership was a history and he done many remarkable things for the country.

For the resolution to be successful, it should be signed with not less than 220 congressmen to be filed at the plenary for approval. Among the first to sign the resolution were Ilocos Norte Representative Imelda Marcos (Marcos-Widow), former President turned Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Cavite Representative Lani Mercado-Revilla to name a few.

Even President Noynoy Aquino expressed his support to the said resolution if ever it will reach the plenary.
