DPWH Reported Impassable Roads in Mindanao Due to LPA

The Department of Public Works and Highways reported some roads in Mindanao are currently impassable due to the Low Pressure Area (LPA) that affects Mindanao in the past few days.

According to the Official Gazette through the DPWH, some roads in CARAGA (Region 13) and Davao Region (Region 11) are impassable. The DPWH reported landslides, road slips, and floods in different parts of the region particularly along the national highways, which were temporarily closed to public traffic.

Here’s the List of Roads Rendered Impassable According to DPWH:

  • National Road Junction (NRJ) Cuevas – Bislig Road;
  • Asuncion – San Isidro – Laak-Veruela Road;
  • SDCR – Nurcia Section;
  • Jct. Gamut – San Miguel-Bayugan Road;
  • Payasan – Los Arcos; and
  • SDCR – Mahayahay, Bislig City

According to Secretary of Public Works and Highways Rogelio L. Singson he ordered the regional and district engineering offices with jurisdiction in landslide-affected areas to clear the roads from debris and render them passable for all types of vehicles.

DPWH also announced that as of 8:00 AM of January 13, 2014, the traffic along the NRJ Cuevas-Bislig Road has been diverted to the Trento – San Francisco – Barobo Road.

The Jct. Gamut-San Miguel Bayugan Road, NRJ Barobo – Agusan del Sur Bdry., and SDCR – San Vicente, Barobo are already passable to all types of vehicles. The DPWH maintenance personnel are still on full alert status for all other possible effects of the LPA.

Other Roads Closed Due to Flooding:

  • National Road Junction (NRJ) Cuevas – Bislig Road, Sta. Maria Section = 1.50 meters depth
  • NRJ Barobo – Agusan del Sur Bdy. Road = 1.2 meters
  • SDCR – San Vicente Barobo Section = 1.0 meters
  • NRJ Awa – Lianga Road, Anibongan Section = 1.0 meters
  • Along Agusan-Davao Road, Bunawan Brook = 1.0 meters
  • Solibao Bridge = 0.8 meters depth
