Gerald Santos showed a copy of the letter he sent to GMA Network
Singer-actor Gerald Santos answered the statement released by GMA Network after what he revealed during the Senate hearing on August 19.
In his statement before Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Robin Padilla, Gerald revealed that he was r@ped and that he was not given projects after he sent a letter of complaint, and then, he was eventually released by the network.
However, GMA stressed in its statement that it was Gerald who wanted to be released. The network also said that what the singer-actor said in his revelation during the Senate hearing was different from what was written in his complaint letter back in 2010. It also said that the company terminated the musical director who allegedly did that inappropriate act.
Following the release of GMA’s statement, Gerald Santos made some clarification on his Facebook post. He showed the follow-up letter that he sent to GMA a year after he filed his complaint.
Gerald was asking for help from the management because he was not given projects. With this, he said in the letter, “Sir, if our network could not provide work for me in these times of crises, sir please allow me to be released from my contract.“
In the caption of his post, the singer-actor said that this pushed him to find where there were projects waiting for him. However, he said that if GMA heard his plea to give him work, he wouldn’t leave at that time.
Gerald Santos also stressed, “HINDI PO GMA NETWORK ANG KALABAN KO KUNDI YUNG MGA TAO NA GALIT SA AKIN SA LOOB NG GMA DAHIL SA PAGSUSUMBONG KO AT AYAW AKONG BIGYAN NG TRABAHO NUNG MGA PANAHONG YUN.”
In the caption of his post, the singer-actor also said that the fact that GMA terminated the musical director meant that there was a probable cause. However, they did not receive an official reply from the network regarding this.
