Hipon Girl Under Fire Over “Offensive” Caption
HIPON GIRL – Netizens are claiming Binibining Pilipinas 2022 candidate No. 8 Herlene “Hipon Girl” Budol made an inappropriate caption in her latest social media post.
Herlene “Hipon Girl” Budol is one of the semi-finalists of the Binibining Pilipinas 2022. She’s representing Angono, Rizal in the prestigious beauty contest.
The 22-year-old Kapuso star said she will advocate autism awareness and detection during her pageant stint. In an IG post, she opened up that she could not help getting emotional after being in the top 40 of the national pageant.
Before taking the stage, Hipon Girl was able to meet her former “Wowowin” co-host Willie Revillame. During their reunion, the social media star received lots of advice from him. Revillame also commented about Hipon’s home which he saw from Karen Davila’s vlog.
Just recently, Hipon shared a video of her pasarela walk for the pageant. “Mga Hiponatics, eto yung basic rampa ni Hipon girl nyo. Malapit ko na e reveal ang pangalan ng signature walk ko!!” she wrote in the caption of her IG post.

Hipon Girl recently became the subject of online bashing. The criticisms were brought up by Binibini’s latest post on Facebook. After winning a special beauty award, negative comments flooded her caption on the said social media platform on Thursday, May 26.
“Ang mga babae, maganda man o hindi nirerespeto yan!”
“Ako nga pala si Binibini #8 – Nicole Budol a.k.a. Herlene Hipon at naniniwala sa kasabihan ‘Aanhin mo pa ang babaeng sexy at maganda kung halos lahat ng lalake nag planking na sa kanya’ And i….Hipon!!” she wrote.
Lots of netizens especially women find her caption offensive. A netizen named Hanie Raiza Campomanes Arajil commented: “Take down niyo na lang ang post. At isa pa po, mag-ingat sa mga posts and captions mo, malaki ang followers mo. And also, you’re joining a pageant that empower women.”
“I am sure the Binibining Pilipinas Organization is watching. Queenly thoughts lang dapat.”
It can be seen in the comments section of Hipon’s controversial post that she apologized for what she said. She wrote: “My apologies po. Palabiro lang po talga ako. Hayaan niyo po hindi na po mauulit. love u all.”
