Here’s Leila De Lima’s Reaction After Manny Pacquiao Join Calls For Her Release

MANNY PACQUIAO – Senator Leila De Lima reacted after Presidential candidate Senato Manny Pacquiao want her released from jail.

Boxer-turned-politician Manny Pacquiao is one of the 10 candidates vying for the top job this upcoming May 9 elections. He’s the standard-bearer of PROMDI.

The 43-year-old senator vowed to pursue his strategy of ending corruption in the government. He said corruption is the real reason why the country remains very poor.

Manny Pacquaio recently joined calls for the release of Detained senator Leila de Lima. It was after two witnesses – former Bureau of Corrections chief Rafael Ragos and self-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa – retracted their statements against De lima.

“Sabi ko nga, kawawa naman ‘yung tao kung halimbawa inosente siya eh ang tagal na, ilang taon na? Limang taon. Mahigit. So, sana palayain na … Para ‘yung tao naman mabigyan ng pagkakataon para mangampanya,” Pacman said in Cebu.

De Lima is an open critic of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s administration. She has been detained in Camp Crame, Quezon City since February 2017. It was alleged that she used drug money for her campaign in 2016.

Leila de Lima took to Twitter to express her gratitude to her fellow senator for joining the call to release her from detention. The re-electionist senator also prayed that Providence will continue to guide Pacman.

“Nagpapasalamat ako kay Sen @MannyPacquiao, na pagkatapos ng mahigit 5 taon, ay nanawagan na syang ako ay palayain na. May God continue to guide him.”

“Umaasa ako na marami pang maliliwanagan sa mga gawa-gawang kaso laban sa’kin, at ng iba pang mga bilanggong politikal. #Hustisya,” she added.
