SM Praised By Netizens For Their AutiSM at Work Program

AutiSM AT WORK – SM Markets were praised by netizens from all over the country for taking the initiative to provide opportunities for persons with autism (PWAs).

SM Hypermarket Molino is now hiring individuals with autism in their workforce. This is part of their advocacy of providing equal opportunities to all aspects of life.

Their advocacy is called AutiSM at Work and its participants are more than happy to serve you with the biggest smile. This program is also in partnership with Autism Society Philippines.

SM markets started their program back in 2016. It was a workplace inclusion program for people with autism.

They began with one pilot store to 17 stores nationwide. According to their website, the participants started off by merely stocking products on the shelves.

But, because of the continued support of the facilitators, they have improved their social skills. Adding to this, they have made more friends and became an inspiration to many.

Now, they are assigned in various areas and tasks in the supermarket selling area. The program is complemented by disability sensitivity training for all frontliners and in-store information for customers.
