The Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) members are considered by netizens as unsung heroes in the aftermath of the Typhoon Yolanda catastrophe that hits the central Philippine provinces last week. They were the first to response to the immediate needs of the desperate Filipino victims after the super typhoon damaged the lives and properties of the victims.

Some netizens who have aired their sentiments online praises the Philippine Constructors Association who use their equipment and assist in the disaster rescue operations, even without the orders from the local government or any politician and media organizations. They are working tirelessly and quietly since Saturday morning.
According to Lito Madrasto, COO of International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors Association stated through his official Facebook Page that their group at Philippine Constructors Association have been working since day 1 of super typhoon Yolanda aftermath.
Madrasto stated that, Balfour sent a team clearing the roads from EDC project site towards Ormoc City. C.M. Pancho also dispatched from their Western Samar project site to clear roads towards San Juanico Bridge.
One team is now operating in Tacloban City clearing the city streets while the other is now operating in Palo, Leyte also doing the same role. DMCI has also sent a team down from their Western Samar project site and currently operating in Tacloban City alongside the C.M.Pancho team.
Mac Builders and Yakal Builders, both of PCA Ormoc Chapter left their project site at the North Eastern side of Samar and cleared the road all the way to Guiaun, the first town hit by Typhoon Yolanda.
The Cebu Chapter, Cebu Contractors Association was the first to respond to the towns of Northern Cebu. Right now, additional teams from Manila are mobilizing for departure Saturday via 8000 DWT Barge with full equipment & manpower complement.
The Philippine Constructors Association is known for immediate Disaster Response since 1945 without fanfare nor publicity. Mr. Lito Madrasto added further that “We operate isaster Response as a duty to our people and our country and not for publicity.” he was quoted as saying on Facebook.
