MMDA Assured Traffic Free FIBA Asia Championship

The  Philippines will be hosting the FIBA Asia Championship 2013 this coming August, the government agency in charge of traffic in Metro Manila, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), assured FIBA that there will be no traffic from their billeting center to the venue.

The MMDA and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) the official and lone governing body recognized by FIBA signed a covenant of cooperation for the staging of the FIBA Asia Championship which will be held in the Philippines after 40 years.

The Philippine national team, Gilas Pilipinas will be billeted at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati, along with the national squads from the 15 participating national teams who will take part in the prestigious basketball tournament.

The MMDA promised the national team and the visitors that they will travel back and forth without any problem with the congested traffic, in which Manila became famous of.
